As part of the $3 billion Level Crossing Removal Project, which aimed to eliminate 18 level crossings and construct 12 new stations along the Frankston line, PPS was contracted to undertake the full scope of hydraulic works in the redevelopment of Chelsea train station.

Commencing in 2020, the project removed five level crossings in Edithvale, Chelsea, and Bonbeach by lowering the rail into a trench, increasing safety for commuters and traffic.

The redevelopment of Chelsea Station, completed in 2023, introduced modern facilities, enhanced parking, and improved connections for pedestrians and cyclists.

The station’s design reflected local Indigenous culture and coastal themes, enhancing accessibility while supporting increased train services.
